Old Town

CC Slaughters
A full service cocktail bar and restaurant with a Dance Floor and DJ, CC’s as it’s known brings everyone together from all communities.   The crowd can vary by event and is usually pretty eclectic.  Depending on the night you may find C&W or 70’s disco through Fusion.  Again, every branch of the community are represented in the customers.  The Bears have our Double XX Dance here every 4th Friday at 9pm till Midnight so come party with us.

Fox & Hounds
This downtown cocktail bar and restaurant features reasonably priced meals including Sunday Brunch specials and special dinner pricing nightly.   This is a downtown bar with a neighborhood feeling and after a few visits, like Cheers, it’s a place where they’ll all know your name.  You’ll find every kind of friend from all GLBT walks of life at F&H.

Darcelle XV
Darcelle, and her nightclub with a full review and show, are both local Gay Icons and keep fun and glamour alive and well in Portland.  With our cloudy skies, if it weren’t for Darcelle we probably would never see stars.  Known far and wide for her finely honed sense of humor Darcelle is known throughout gay and straight Portland.  This is one of the longest established female impersonator clubs on the West Coast.  Although her club often fills up with young gals about to be married and looking for last minute fun and makeup tips, you’ll find everyone at Darcelle’s who loves a rollicking good time.  Darcelle and long time partner Roxy can be seen having a snack or an after show cocktail at Fox & Hound and are both well loved and respected for the community and charitable support they promote.  A friend of the Oregon Bears, we partner with Darcelle for the annual Teddy Bear Drive to help our Bear’s Charities.

Embers
The Embers is a full-featured Dance Bar serving cocktails and food.  Its crowd runs the rampart of gay life.  Though of course open to everyone, Embers generally caters to a younger energetic dance crowd of gays and straights.  The Embers owner Steve is very supportive of the whole community including the Imperial Rose Court and Portland Leather Community.  You’ll find some great events there like the Erotica Show and the Oregon State Leather Competition here. 

Gail’s Dirty Duck 
This low-key tavern features pool, darts, beer & wine.  You’ll meet Bears and members of the Leather Levi community any day of the week. 

Hobo’s
Fine dining and a full service cocktail bar, Hobo’s is Old Town’s upscale gay restaurant – which just means people dress up a bit more for a nice meal and that special occasion.

Downtown - Stark Street

Scandals
Serving cocktails with a view of life on Stark Street out the windows this is a friendly neighborhood club that caters to the whole community.  Also featured pool and darts.

Silverado (AKA Flossy’s to long-time locals)
Eclectic mix is the active word for Silverado.  Featuring a full bar, cocktail waiters with sprayed on tighty whities, energetic nude dancers, video, a great sound system and a crowd that defies definition; this is the place if you want to meet all of Portland in one spot.  Great visual feast!

The Complex – Briggs, Boxes, Fish Grotto, Red Cap Garage, Panorama 
This club has it all.  Different themed clubs all combine in the Complex ranging from a full service Restaurant – The Fish Grotto and onto several cocktails bars and dance spaces.

North Bank Tavern in Vancouver
Just one freeway exit across the Columbia River is a friendly neighborhood tavern with beer, wine and food.  The North Bank hosts a variety of events thanks to their stage and dance floor area.  Regular night’s feature conversation and pool games.  Under new ownership so watch for fresh paint and changes underway.
